Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. They moved to Oxfordshire when she was five years old and attended the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become a professional actor when she was just six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. When she was ten, she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consistent auditions the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film is 2001's top grossing film, breaking records at the opening and the very first weekend. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performance of three stars. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely and widely read, praised her performance as admirable.
